mushmouse and the giving spirit

Here is a picture of us at the Christmas Tree farm, where they name the trees to be cut down. Mia chose a tree named "mushmouse," instructed me to "saw it down" and we brought it home. Probably the finest tree we have ever had. This Christmas season our entire family (parents, sibs and their families) have decided to donate to various charities. Sunshine, Mia and I will be donating to the following organizations:Earthspeak - For children born with a clefting (cleft lip and palate) condition Nothing But Nets - malaria prevention through distribution of free nets.Hiefer Project International- helping people obtain a sustainable source of food and income.Speaking of giving, ESPN gave me the opportunity to rethink why I subscribe to their magazine this past weekend. Leafing through my newest issue of ESPN magazine...I was suddenly overwhelmed by those annoying loose subscription cards that fall out of every magazine. Actually they are called "blow-in" cards. Eleven in all, and they went everywhere. Since they are already postpaid, I think that I will mail them in blank as my holiday gift to ESPN.We are into finals week here at BU, then off for Christmas break. The team
will resume their strength and conditioning cycle again, with our holiday break workout that begins the last week of this month. Be good, give to others, and stay caffeinated!
