Took this snapshot of Adopt-A-Highway sign here in Santa Cruz during a recent mountain bike ride. My former college coach, Phil Kaplan and his grass-roots beach volleyball organization, Kaplan Volleyball has been honored as volunteer of the year by some organization. Phil had a lot of influence on me as to his approach to life and volleyball. Way to go Phil! Google "no attitudes volleyball" to see more on Phil's organization. Wow June is here and gone and I only posted once last month- time flies when your busy. We are less than 40 days till the 2009 season gets going! Awesome. The team is working out and preparing themselves for a challenging season ahead. We have added two more players - Becky Heiner (Oceanside, CA) and Calai Brown (North Highlands, CA) to complete our class of 2013. Welcome aboard ladies, see you all in <40. Go with the flow and drink some Joe.
