Midweek Momentum Maintenance

I thought a mid-week blog over a strong cup of rocket fuel (black coffee) was appropriate. Many of YOU (future Bruins) and your respective teams are, like us, in the second round of league play. This time of year is critical as we face familiar foes for the second time.

So far we are 2-0 in our second half of our conference schedule and have some momentum going into this coming weekend. We journey to the hills of Oakland to take on Holy Names and Mills on back-to-back evenings. HNU is an unpleasant, hostile environment to play. Mills usually has a decent crowd, and the noise level is very high because of the unique acoustics of the facility (a rectangle court in an octagonal building).

To keep ourselves from late-season physical breakdown, we have adjusted our weekly practices as follows: Mondays - weights/ team practice session, Tuesdays - position practices, Wednesdays - match review (DVD),plyometrics and weights, and Thursdays - team practice session.

Tonight we will do a bit of DVD breakdown in preparation for our match with HNU, do some jumping and in-season weights and then call it a day. Best wishes to you all in the remainder of your week. Keep in touch.
