recharging for the new year

Today marks the beginning of our team Christmas Break workout. The ladies will be perform individual workouts three times per week for the next four weeks. The goal of our Christmas Break Phase is to focus on total body muscle hypertrophy (growth and increase of the size of muscle cells) The holidays are a challenging time to be motivated. It takes a special kind of athlete to consistently train during winter break with determination to be better. It's about accountability - to teammates, coaching staff, the school, and the big Man upstairs! During lunch today, I completed the workout and I have to say that Chris (our strength coach) has put together a great program. So the team should be ready to move into our Off-season Phase I workout when they return to campus in mid-January– where the focus will be higher intensity (more weight) with specific leg and core body exercises - prior to reacquainting ourselves with the volleyball.
