family ties

A tough lesson in the importance of family. We (my coworkers and I) found out Thursday, that P, a longtime employee had suffered a heart attack,is now in a coma and probably not returning to normal life."We are his only family," as my employer put it. A sad reality. P lived a gnarly life-a Vietnam Vet and former Hells Angel-before pouring his life into his work as a salesperson. P was a quirky, high-stress guy who always found time to ask me about how our volleyball team was doing. Family is something that is very important in our program. We score points because of it. We work hard at it and celebrate it. We rarely miss birthdays! It provides the solid foundation and support that we need when volleyball and real life gets a little hairy. When you enter our program you automatically become one of the family. Maintain your family ties and pray for P and his situation.
