pizookies and purpose

Last night we wrapped up the fall with our awards dessert banquet complete with white elephant gift exchange and flat-out pizookie annihilation. One of the five tenants of the NAIA student-athlete is exhibiting servant leadership. So we took the opportunity to serve and give as a team gift wrapping some new clothing for a single mother and her 11 year old daughter who are going through some tough times this Christmas season.  An easy act of doing something to make someone else's life a bit easier. Sideout note: Our gift exchange went off without too much excitement, although Mia was very amused by the reindeer antlers I picked out.  Wonder why nobody else wanted them?  On to the team honors...Most Improved - freshman middle blocker, Ashely Coila.  Most Inspirational - senior outside hitter, Brittany Francis. And the Most Outstanding Player (MOP!) - junior outside hitter, Kim Feigles.  Congrats ladies on being great teammates. Now its on to final exams and heading home for the Christmas holiday.

Coach, I really liked the antlers but my santa bobble head was just too awesome to leave behind!
