It's been a bit since my last ranting- this season has been busy and going by quickly. Last night we posted a historic 3-2 victory over the U.C. Santa Cruz (now DIII Independent), ending a 6-year drought against the fighting Banana Slugs. In fact, the Slugs where a member of the California Pacific Conference South Division the last time BU got a win. Sheesh. Other happenings here at BU - Midterm week just finished up, freshman Jessie Alcorn received conference Player of the Week honors this past week, the foundation for the new Student Center is being poured as I post, and the Alumni team returns to campus to play the current squad on Friday night.
Sideout note - The Alumni match is an annual affair here as many former BU players return to campus to socialize, fellowship and compete against the current team. Here are some things for you all to do right now during your respective seasons:
- Hate to lose. It's a better mindset than - "I like to win."
- Register for the NAIA Eligibility Center (click link to the right)
- Start your BU application online
- Keep in touch about your team's progress
- Enjoy some coffee
- Honor God with your game and volleyball skills
