it is time to go!

I took this picture at Blue Ridge Assembly, a YMCA camp in North Carolina, where my family held our family reunion this summer. My nephew, Kyler, was the first to see the run of outdoor courts- exclaiming...'Uncle Reed YOU are gonna love this.' And yes I did. There were about a dozen nets set side by side for about a 100 yards. Awesome. Volleyball is everywhere- even in the deep, green woods of North Carolina. Did you know that volleyball has become the second-most-played sport in the world? Nearly one out of eight people on the planet play volleyball at least once a week. Even the Pope at loves volleyball (or at least the new Mikasa ball).
BU players, along with other fall athletes, arrive on campus this coming Monday to get moved in to dorms, attend athlete orientation meetings, and get the 2009 season underway. We have a good mix of returning athletes and will have five new athletes donning the Maroon and gold this fall. Those of you 2010 graduates most likely have started your final hs seasons and we wish you the very best in your respective programs. Grab some Joe because it's time to go!
