in season

It's been awhile. My apologies as this pre-season has been much busier than in recent years. We had 13 athletes report when camp opened in mid-August (five being "newbies") and our pre-season conference poll slated us to finish 3rd. We had some great team bonding as we tackled our fears on a dynamic ropes course at Mt. Hermon and relaxed a bit at Brit's family cabin in beautiful Pinecrest. Back to volleyball stuff... we are 1-5 and lost a key middle blocker to season-ending injury. What to do? We still get after it with our young crew and do the best we are capable of doing. Calai and Ashley, our two "green, " lean and mean middles are taking big steps everyday as they fill some big shoes. Our conference slate will be tough this fall as nearly every school has improved their rosters = no easy matches. This is fine with us because we will grow faster, and become a lot better against stronger competition night in and out. We have our last tune-up match tonight against the fighting Banana Slugs of UC Santa Cruz before we blast into conference play next week. Best sets and grab some joe!
